Friday 12th October, 7.30pm at Gosforth Civic Theatre

Featuring four of the norths leading contemporary classical composers, this concert is a must for lovers of accessible, thoughtful and captivating solo piano music. An unmissable evening of lovingly crafted, heartfelt and beautiful original music.

There will be performances from the Newcastle based Steve Luck (award winning composer and founder of the Atmospherica series), Northumberland’s Mark Deeks (vastly experienced pianist and owner of Music Newcastle), Simeon Walker from Leeds (founder of the Brudenell Piano Sessions and fresh from recent performances at the Latitude festival and Late Junction on Radio 3) and Oliver Brouwer from Lancaster (a featured artist on the Swedish ‘1631 Recordings’ label)

Award winning piano and cello duo from Germany, brothers Sebastian and Daniel Selke AKA CEEYS are making their UK debut at this months Atmospherica concert on Thursday 19th July at 6pm. Joep Beving, a 42-year-old Dutch composer with a bristly, pointed beard and fronds of dull blonde hair, seems born to write soulful piano melodies. His rapid rise to fame, however, is nothing short of miraculous. It was 2015, and he’d been forced to release his debut album Solipsism independently after being turned down by a record label. Suddenly, he found that his Spotify streams were skyrocketing after one of his tracks was added to the streaming giant’s in-house Peaceful Piano playlist (which currently has over four million followers).
